We explore, protect, and share biodiversity.
General Overview

Hacettepe University Biodiversity Research and Application Center (HUBİOM) was established on August 11, 2008, with the goal of researching, protecting, and documenting Turkey’s biodiversity through scientific collections, as well as raising public awareness.

Operating at the Beytepe Campus, our center supports the production and dissemination of knowledge on biodiversity through research, collection management, laboratory work, and educational activities. It contributes to scientific research through national and international collaborations and brings together diverse age and interest groups with the natural sciences.

The BIYOSFER Biodiversity Museum, opened to visitors within our center on May 22, 2023, World Biodiversity Day, presents the richness of nature through a scientific and educational approach. Featuring exhibits ranging from the formation of the universe to fossils, microorganisms, plants, and animals, it enables visitors to explore the diversity of life.

Our goal as HUBİOM and BIYOSFER is to document Anatolia’s natural heritage, strengthen conservation awareness, and pass on scientific knowledge to future generations by sharing it with society.
